How DESPYR works: The animation shows the airspace above the site being scanned continuously. Contacts are detected, classified and tracked, from the first signal to the decision. Because RF direction finding also picks up the remote controller, the pilot's position appears in the air picture next to the drone. That is the moment security staff can move, instead of staring at the sky.
DESPYR brings drone detection to where it is needed: festivals, stadiums, fairs, plants and facilities. We arrive with mobile sensors, set up on site and deliver a live air picture throughout the deployment. Alerting and evidence-grade documentation are part of the package.

You do not invest in your own equipment. We come to you with hardware and staff. Deployment details such as sensor positions, coverage areas and escalation paths are treated as confidential and shared with the client only. Discretion is part of the protection concept.
Active countermeasures such as jamming are reserved for government authorities in Germany. DESPYR focuses on what operators and organisers can lawfully do: detect, verify, alert, document, in close coordination with security and police. Our model is built to work with the authorities, not to take over their role. We keep a close eye on the legal developments.

The principle is simple. Every commercial drone transmits: control commands, video, telemetry. Our sensors often pick up these signals the moment the remote controller is switched on, before the drone has even left the ground. Learning algorithms assign the detected signals to drone types in real time and separate relevant contacts from the RF background, which is considerable on an event site. Manned aviation is identified through separate methods and filtered out of the drone air picture.
The equipment arrives by vehicle and is operational well before the event starts. All detections merge into one air picture your incident command understands without training. On request we connect it to your control room or existing security systems.

Professional drone flights as a service: surveying and mapping with orthophotos and 3D models, inspection of roofs, plants and structures without scaffolding or lifts, thermography for PV systems, building envelopes and district heating, plus construction progress and as-built documentation. We plan every job around the object and the question, from flight preparation to the evaluated result. We are based in the Upper Palatinate; our operating area reaches from Amberg via Nuremberg and Regensburg across Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Sensors deliver raw data. INTELLIGENCE turns it into an assessment: AI-assisted classification, behaviour analysis and automatic reporting. Every detection receives a confidence score, is logged and prepared so it can serve as evidence and for communication with the authorities.
SYSTEMS is the technical backbone of every deployment. For the duration of the service our detection equipment connects to your existing security structure: to the staffed control room (plant security, alarm receiving centre or your event's security centre), to your reporting chains and, if desired, to your video management. You buy and operate nothing yourself. Set-up, operation and maintenance stay with us, for a single day as much as for recurring or permanent monitoring. Special interfaces or additional hardware are agreed per project.

Every unauthorised drone above your site produces unlicensed footage. That is a problem for exclusivity contracts, broadcasting rights and your guests' personal rights. We detect such drones early, locate the pilot where possible and document the incident so you can enforce your rights.
Depending on the setup we detect commercial multicopters from the major manufacturers and many home-built and FPV systems via their RF signatures, complemented by further sensors where needed. What a system delivers at a specific site we only state after the assessment. Terrain, buildings and the RF environment simply have too much influence.
Nobody can seriously promise you 100 percent detection, and neither do we. Drone technology moves fast; current conflicts keep producing new transmission methods, frequency bands and autonomous flight modes that every detection system has to catch up with. That is why we keep our equipment current, reassess every situation and tell you openly what a setup can and cannot deliver at your site.

You get a live air picture, alerting and evidence-grade documentation without purchasing equipment or training staff. Bookable by the day, for several days or on a recurring basis, nights included.
Drone protection for events starts with detection. Only detection shows incident command and security that something is flying, where it came from and, where technically possible, where the pilot stands. The agreed reporting chains then take over, up to the police. Flights over crowds are prohibited under Section 21h of the German Air Traffic Regulations anyway. Enforcing that, however, requires someone to notice and prove the violation. That is what detection delivers: early warning, flight path and documentation.
No. The same mobile detection equipment we use at festivals and events also serves industrial sites, critical facilities and temporary protection situations , for instance during heightened threat levels, plant shutdowns, product launches or protected visits. The advantage is the same: we arrive with our own equipment, operate the sensors ourselves and take them away afterwards. You buy and operate nothing.
Very likely, yes. Since 2026 the KRITIS Umbrella Act obliges operators of critical facilities to conduct their own risk analysis and to take measures for
physical protection ; violations carry substantial fines. Drone detection is not spelled out in the act. But a risk analysis that leaves out the threat from the air will be hard to defend as adequate when it matters.

Within a few years drones have gone from toy to everyday tool. They are capable, cheap and available to anyone. The same development makes them a risk. What current conflicts show every day, small systems with a large effect, arrives in the civilian world with a delay. Incidents over airports, industrial plants and events are increasing, and the threat evolves faster than most protection concepts.
In between stand those who carry the responsibility: organisers, operators, security managers. In Germany, essentially only the authorities may intervene. But they cannot be everywhere, and whoever does not know what is flying above their own site can neither react nor prove anything. DESPYR grew out of that thought. The first step in any protection is detection. Whoever knows their air picture gains time, room to act and evidence. That is why DESPYR starts with detection, as a service provider, mobile, wherever the risk actually is.
We come from hands-on IT infrastructure, monitoring and emergency services, and we build systems the way we would want to inherit them ourselves: modular, open, maintainable and properly documented. No black box and no inflated promises. What we deliberately do not do: actively interfere with air traffic. That remains a matter for the authorities, and that is exactly where we deliver the air picture authorities and security need in order to act.
